Using Inbox Feature in MeetEdgar

Edgar’s Inbox gives you a simple way to keep up with messages and comments across your social accounts, all in one place. Whether you’re replying to DMs or staying on top of post engagement, your inbox helps you respond faster and stay connected with your audience.

Which plans support the Inbox feature?

The Inbox is available on the Edgar Plan.

Users can reply to comments and respond to direct messages right inside MeetEdgar.

If you’re on Eddie plan, you can upgrade anytime in your Account Settings here.

How to Connect Your Facebook & Instagram Accounts

If you're using the Inbox feature for the first time, you'll need to refresh your Facebook account so it can sync properly with your inbox.

  1. Go to the Social Accounts tab in your Edgar account.

  2. Find your connected Facebook and/or Instagram account.

  3. Click the Refresh button.

This one-time refresh also updates any Instagram account already connected to Edgar. After this, your Inbox will automatically keep pulling in your comments and DMs, no additional setup needed.


How Edgar’s Inbox Works

Your Inbox collects all comments and direct messages from posts that Edgar publishes for you on Facebook and Instagram.

Posts published manually or through other tools won’t appear in the inbox.

It’s organized into three views to help you easily focus on the type of engagement you want to manage:

1. Direct Messages (DMs)

See all private messages sent to your Facebook Page and Instagram account.

2. Unread Messages

Check everything you haven’t opened or responded to yet.

3. Comments

View comments from your posts published by Edgar and reply directly inside the app.

You can switch between these views anytime, and they update automatically as new engagement comes in.


Supported Social Platforms

The Inbox is currently available only for:

  • Facebook

  • Instagram

Support for additional platforms is already in the works.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I reply to messages and comments directly from MeetEdgar?

Yes. You can reply to both comments and direct messages without leaving MeetEdgar.

Can multiple team members use the Inbox at the same time?

Yes. Any team member with access to the Edgar account can view and reply to messages in the Inbox.

Does Edgar mark messages as read automatically?

Messages move out of the Unread view once they’re opened or replied to.

Can I filter or search messages in the Inbox?

At this time, Inbox messages are organized by DMs, Unread, and Comments, but advanced filtering and search aren’t supported yet.

Can I delete messages or comments from the Inbox?

No. You can reply to messages and comments, but deletion must be done directly on Facebook or Instagram.

Are Instagram and Facebook story replies included in the Inbox?

Yes. Replies to Stories will appear in the Direct Messages view.
